Each year the College holds our Public Speaking Awards where students from all year levels are welcome to participate. The Public Speaking Awards is a co-curricular opportunity that gives students the ability to enhance and practice their creative writing and presentation skills outside of the classroom.
Students are required to write a speech based on the set topic. In previous years, the topic has been various song titles and well-known statements. Staff members, community members and student alumni take on the role of adjudicators and award the John Hurley Shield for Public Speaking to a student from each year level who delivers a creative, dynamic and engaging speech.
