What a MMADD Week we had!

Beginning MMADD Week, STMC welcomed Brisbane artist 'Lucks' and guitar artist Nicholas Doversand. Tuesday, saw a dance flash mob performance in Servant Court and music performances by the Junior and Contemporary Rock Bands. Past STMC student, Elenore Pollard, gave a media presentation, Wednesday morning. Wednesday lunchtime, the annual student vs teacher dance battle took place, with the teachers again crowned victorious. That evening, STMC hosted the annual Penny Awards. This year, saw over 26 students from Years7-12 present either individually or collectively over 20 acts to a well-received audience and esteemed judging panel. The adjudicators presented a Junior, Senior and Overall Penny Award for the most highly developed, outstanding and entertaining dramatic performance. This year these awards were presented to:

·         Junior Penny Winner: Harrison Franklin (Yr 9)

·         Senior Penny Winner: Bryanna Hoswell (Yr 10)

·         Overall Penny Winner: Ella Baxter (Yr 11)

There was a media presentation on at Thursday lunchtime which displayed students work. With Friday being open-door rehearsals for the Jazz and Chamber Strings Ensembles where students could come and have a peek at what happens in music rehearsals. The last event for the weeks was Theatre Sports which was held in the drama room with lots of activities and battles. ​

Overall, MMADD Week was a wonderful week. With so many students attending many events! We are now looking forward to next years' MMADD Week.
