 NAPLAN Results in The Southern Star

Students in Year 7 and Year 9 from St Thomas More College achieved top results in the 2015 NAPLAN tests. The average NAPLAN result ranks the College in the top 3 secondary schools and the highest ranked private secondary school on Brisbane's south side.

The College firmly believes that the major source of variance in students' academic achievement, besides the student, is the teacher. Students at St Thomas More College achieved top NAPLAN results as the College focuses on teacher professional development and learning.

In 2016 the College will implement our Super 6 - Strategic Reading Program which focuses on enhancing students' reading comprehension. Before the academic year commenced all teaching staff undertook professional learning on schooling students around the strategies to become self-regulated readers.

As a suburban school on Brisbane’s south side, St Thomas More College is still able to provide students with an innovative and challenging curriculum and extensive co-curricular opportunities with economical school fees.
