Primary Cluster Competition 2017


The 2017 Primary Cluster Competition came to close on with the Presentation Assembly held at the College.

Every year, the Primary Cluster gets bigger and better, and this year was no different. For the first time in Primary Cluster history, an overall champion school was awarded. Congratulations to St Ita’s who took out the trophy for being the most successful school across all three sports at the 2017 Primary Cluster. Which school will take home the shield in 2018?

The Primary Cluster Competition is an inter-school sporting competition for local Catholic primary schools, which is organised by Year 11 students undertaking a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation.

The Primary Cluster is a win-win for both primary schools and STMC. For six weeks during Term 2, primary school students are able to compete in a fun interschool competition in either netball, oztag or soccer each Friday afternoon. At the same time, Year 11 students run a large scale sporting competition and put into practice the theoretical learning of the Certificate course.
This year we welcomed a total of 682 primary school students consisting of 72 teams from the following six schools:
