Involvement in social justice and service learning initiatives is a core expression of the mission of Catholic schools, encouraging students to live out their faith through meaningful action. At the College, the emphasis is on adopting a Solidarity model in mission initiatives, focusing on working alongside marginalised communities in mutual partnership. This approach is reflected in the College’s involvement with organisations such as:
- Emmanuel City Mission
- Rosies
- Edmund Rice Camps
- St Vincent de Paul Vinnies
- Orange Sky Laundry
- Project Compassion
- Sunnybank Special School
As well as partnerships with the communities of Cherbourg and Thursday Island. Through these opportunities, students engage directly with those in need, cultivating empathy, understanding, and a deeper commitment to addressing social injustices.
