Step 3: Interview

Once the application has been processed and reviewed, your family may be invited to attend an enrolment interview. Interviews for Year 7 typically occur 18-24 months prior to when your child is due to commence at the school.

For enrolments into year levels other than Year 7, and for mid-year entry, interviews will only be offered if a place is available at the time of application.

Please note: An invitation to interview does not guarantee an offer of enrolment.

Step 4: Offer of Enrolment

We aim to notify families of the outcome of their enrolment application within two weeks of their interview. In some cases, we may require additional information or invite you to a second interview to ensure we can best support your child’s educational journey. Where applications exceed available places, families will be added to our waitlist.

Subject to availability, places may be offered to students in Years 8-12 wishing to enrol at any time throughout the school year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you'll make for your child. While every school offers learning opportunities, Catholic schools provide an education that nurtures the whole child academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

At our school, your child will be known, valued and supported as an individual. We strive to create a welcoming community where students feel a sense of belonging, develop strong relationships and are encouraged to become their very best version of themselves.

Catholic education is grounded in values such as compassion, respect, service, inclusion and justice. These values are woven through everyday school life, helping students grow into confident young people who care for others and make a positive contribution to their community.

We encourage families to submit their child's application when they are in Year 2. Following the completion of NAPLAN in Year 3, families will be required to provide NAPLAN results to support the application submitted in Year 2.

We welcome enquiries at any time and encourage families to connect with us early to learn more about our College community and enrolment process.

Enrolment interviews are conducted throughout the academic year. Following the enrolment interview, you may be offered a placement.

Offers of enrolment are considered at the Principal's discretion and in accordance with the St Thomas More College Enrolment Policy.

We aim to notify families of the outcome of their enrolment application within two weeks of their interview.

While St Thomas More College is a Catholic school, we are open to all families seeking a faith-based education in a welcoming and inclusive community. We celebrate the diversity of the families we serve and invite everyone to participate in and support the Catholic traditions, beliefs and values that guide our schools and enrich the educational experience of every student. Children who are baptised Catholic are given priority of enrolment at Brisbane Catholic Education schools.

If your child is placed on a waitlist, you will be kept informed throughout the enrolment process. If an availability arises, families will be contacted and offered a place where possible.

Absolutely! One of the best ways to decide whether our College is the right fit for your family is to experience it firsthand.

We encourage families to attend one of our College Tours or Open Days, where you can meet our staff, explore our learning spaces, and gain a genuine feel for our welcoming community. These events provide a great opportunity to ask questions and discover what makes St Thomas More College such a special place to learn and grow.

Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for upcoming College Tour dates and enrolment events.

We look forward to welcoming you to St Thomas More College and helping you determine whether our College is the right fit for your family.

We welcome students and families who share in the values and ethos of a Catholic education.

Each application we receive is assessed on its merit; however, where limited availability exists, priority may be given to:

  • Siblings of current students provided the application is received by the closing date.
  • Baptised Catholic students from Catholic primary schools.
  • Baptised Catholic students from non-Catholic primary schools.
  • Non-baptised students from Catholic primary schools.
  • Non-baptised students from non-Catholic primary schools. This category is only offered enrolment interviews after the application closing date to allow time for Catholic families to apply.

Families are encouraged to view both the BCE Enrolment Policy and the St Thomas More College Enrolment Policy before submitting an application.
