Community

At St Thomas More College we pride ourselves on knowing all students by name and character. All students are allocated a Pastoral Care Class with a Pastoral Care Teacher responsible for that class for the academic year.

Pastoral Care Classes provide an environment for students to develop connections with their peers, as students remain in this class for the duration of their learning journey at St Thomas More College. This supportive environment enables students to further develop their communication skills by interacting with peers with diverse personalities and interests.

Students meet with their Pastoral Care Teacher in a set lesson every day. This regular meeting enables the teacher to take a more personal interest in each student's academic and social development. Pastoral Care Teachers are able to track student's progress and, therefore, are the main contact for students and parents/guardians should concerns arise.

Each year level has a Pastoral Leader that provides student support and oversees Pastoral Care on a year level basis.
