​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The College's comprehensive sport program encapsulates the “TEAM More" motto and spirit: Together Everyone Achieves More.

The program includes a wide variety of intra-school, inter-school, and representative sporting opportunities including College carnival and gala days.


STMC Carnivals

The College holds three intra-school sporting carnivals throughout the academic year and these act as starting platforms for students to represent the College at the South East Colleges Association (SECA) and Metropolitan West (Met West) competitions. 

The College SECA Carnivals are held for swimming in Term 1, cross country in Term 2, and track and field in Term 3.


SECA Sport

St Thomas More College participates in the South East Colleges Association (SECA) Sports inter-school competition, held each Thursday during Terms 2 and 3. St Thomas More College competes against nine other secondary schools in the following sports: 

  • Basketball

  • Cricket 

  • e-Sports 

  • Futsal

  • Golf

  • Indoor Soccer 

  • Netball

  • OzTag

  • Rugby League

  • Rugby 7's 

  • Soccer 

  • Tennis

The College also offers sports and activities for students to participate in instead of the SECA Sports Competition.

SECA Gala Days

The SECA Gala Days provide students an opportunity to participate in sports outside those offered in the SECA inter-school competition. Trials and training take place a few weeks before the Gala Day. The Gala Days are a one-day event in the following sports:

  • OzTag: Girls & Boys; Junior, Intermediate and Senior

  • Cricket: Girls & Boys; Junior, Intermediate and Senior

  • Rugby 7s: Boys and Girls; Junior, Intermediate and Senior

  • AFL 9s: Boys and Girls; Junior and Intermediate

  • QISSRL Confraternity Rugby Carnival

  • ​QISSN Netball Carnival

  • Uhlsport Cup Football

  • Queensland Schools Cup Volleyball

  • ISSA Cup, Bill Turner Cup, and Ulhsport Football
